If you are looking for the "perfect" behaviour book for horses this is the book for you! Teach Your Horse Perfect Manners: How You Should Behave So Your Horse Does Too We have read this from cover to cover so many times we are on our second copy! Kelly Marks shows what to do to gain or regain your horse's respect through step by step exercise including join-up and working your horse from the ground.

The book is punctuated by often amusing and always heartwarming stories of horses that have been given a new lease of life thanks to Kelly's comprehensive understanding of horse behaviour. We cannot recommend this highly enough - you won't want to put it down and you will feel infinitely closer to your horse because of it.

For all the potential showjumpers and eventers out there we recommend 101 Jumping Exercises for Horse & Rider as a really good starting point. Putting your horse or pony through their paces guided by the useful and informative instruction will improve their suppleness and prevent boredom.

We recommend this book for beginners and also experienced riders as it really does have something for everyone and is also particularly beneficial if you are starting a younger horse. It's highly visual and even shows how to make your own jumps if you are a bit strapped for cash. Look out for the surprise star guests including Olympic champions - if they endorse it you can't go far wrong!

Bombproof Your Horse: Teach Your Horse to Be Confident, Obedient, and Safe, So Matter What You Encounter Every rider need to know how to help the horse overcome fear of scary objects they encounter. This book will help you cope with the "gremlins" that pop out of hedges and frighten your horse out of his wits.

The author previously train police horses and offers practical advice to help your horse become accustomed to strange and "spooky" situations, building confidence in you - the rider at the same time.

Although he doesn't cover every eventuality we reckon the method works for many situations. Particularly useful if you feel you are of a nervous disposition as Rick teaches you to avoid passing negative vibes to your horse.
