Bay is one of the most popular horse colours. The main body of the horse is a brownish-red colour (deeper red for a Mahogany Bay and a paler tone for a Light Bay) with black mane,tail and black legs to the knee (known as "black points")
Dark bay horses often have visible "pennies" or dapples appearing on their coat during the summer months which enhance the richness of the coat colour. Bay horses also commonly display white
