Horse Jobs - A World of Opportunity!
Would you like to work with horses? You can choose from many different kinds of horse jobs.
Equine Jobs can be equally suited to someone leaving full time education or perhaps even looking for a mid-career change of vocation. We show you how to find the right job for you making your search successful and rewarding.
Careers with horses are not limited to those that involve riding. For horse-lovers that prefer working around horses on the ground rather than actually riding them, there are still plenty of career opportunities.
These include working in one of the equine support services (farriery, holistic therapies, veterinary medicine) or "behind the scenes" for example grooms, show pony producers, or perhaps rehabilitating rescued horses to regain their trust in humankind.
For the more adventurous rider, there is an even wider spectrum of horse jobs to choose from.
These range from bringing on and schooling young horses, to riding in a variety of equestrian sports such as racing, point-to-point or 3 Day Eventing to name but a few.
Each of these disciplines continually demands high levels of commitment, dedication and of course, a large measure of talent on the part of both horse and rider.
Perhaps you would like to teach others and help them learn from your experiences.
For example, it may be that you enjoy showjumping at local or county level but feel that you would really like to teach other people rather than advance your own competitive career.
Some options to consider may include working as a riding instructor, possibly running your own riding school or perhaps even as a course designer for showjumping events.
Working With Horses - So Much More Than Just A Job
Ask around and the majority of people working with horses will tell you that they don't do it for the money.
Unfortunately, in many cases, horse jobs are not among the most spectacularly paid occupations, unless of course you are at the very top but this seems to matter little as the love of horses is primarily the key motivating factor.
A career with horses often means early starts, long hours, hard physical effort and working in all sorts of unfavourable weather conditions.
However, the rewards are not necessarily measured in money or even professional success.
Working with horses gives you the privilege of being up close and personal with these magnificent creatures, spending several hours a day in their company, building friendships and memories that last a lifetime. This is what makes working with horses so much more than just a job.
It is a life-choice and for anyone that has worked in the horse world, we are sure you'll agree it can be the most exhilarating and rewarding time of your life.
If you have already developed a passion for horses, working with them could seem to be a natural progression.
