Your Horse Memories
This page is dedicated to your horse memories - our special friends may be gone but will live on in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
If you would like to contribute to this page, why not write a personal tribute to your horse using the form on our
Horse Tributes
page and we will publish them here as a permanent memorial. Your contributions and shared horse memories are deeply appreciated and will likely help many other horse owners draw strength at this difficult time. We have shared our own personal memories of a beautiful, brave little mare called Marianne in the poem below - we hope you enjoy it. There are lots of pictures of her on this website but our favourite is below.
Our Beloved Marianne

They said she was a "grey". How foolish! As if a poet would describe her so! Her mane and tail all shot with silver Her coat soft-flecked like rain on driven snow
I didn't want a "grey" - Why buy her? Yet somehow quickly found that she was mine. You see, that coat will never glisten - A bay or chestnut - now that would really shine
Her speed was something else! Quicksilver! She'd gallop on and never seem to tire Then stop...hard-breathing for a moment Her nostrils flared, her lovely eyes afire
Eleven years together - far too few Our time was filled with laughter Sunny days, adventures, out for hours, Mad gallops across the hills and near disasters!
Many asked to buy her - a handsome mare indeed But to me no offer would suffice I knew that we could not be parted She was my angel - a pearl without a price
Beyond our help, she lost her fight Dawn broke - around us life awakening With dignity she slipped away forever, In peace at last - my heart was breaking.
Reflection brings to mind so many good times With pride I keep her beauty in my heart The life, the love we shared together In memories we'll never be apart.
In loving memory of our very special Marianne who sadly passed away on 3rd August 2003 aged 25 years.
NEW Norah - our truly wonderful horseSubmitted by: Kate 24/11/2010 On 22nd November 2010, my beloved mare Norah was put to sleep. She had been struggling with arthritis and immune system problems, and was looking tired and unhappy.
We told all the horses on the farm what was happening and explained it to them, telling them how much we love them all and that Norah would be going somewhere where she could watch over them all. She went to sleep very peacefully, and I know she's watching over us until we see her again.
Norah was a huge character and a truly wonderful horse who gave me my life back at a time when I had lost all hope. The 12 years she spent with me were so precious, and the love I have for her will never end. Thank you for everything my beautiful girl, you'll always be in my heart and I'll see you in the stars xxxx
In memory of beautiful BreeSubmitted by: Danielle 15/08/2009 “Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen.” There are some horses that are once-in-a-lifetime horses. Bree, you were one of them - I loved you like no other, and always will. Looking back,I can't tell whether you were entrusted to me, or if I was to you, you looked after me so much. Goodnight, big girl,I'll miss you forever and a day x
In sympathy for your lossSubmitted by: Abbi 9/08/2009 sorry everyone to hear about all your losses with your horses
In memory of a very special little colt - Oberon
Submitted by: Sianie 19/05/2009
Our very first coloured colt who sadly had everything desirable for this world was sadly taken to a better place, Oberon you were born on a great day. I had just come out of the ring at the Royal Welsh with a respectable third place, when I had the phonecall saying you were born too early.
How I wish I could of just been at home that day, but we struggled lad with you for 9 days and sadly on the 2nd of August 2006 you passed away in Dad's arms. Rest in peace our little fella. xxx
Our thanks to everyone for their continued contributions of horse memories to this page - an everlasting tribute to some very special friends.
